I have transformed over the years from a child who would not eat much of anything besides junk food, to a woman who has self-educated about how to take care of my body!
How did the transformation happen? As a kid, I did not like a lot of food, especially fruits and vegetables. I was a very thin kid, who loved junk food! Since puberty, I struggled with weight (of course, my food choices didn't help!); I started jogging and exercising, and dieting! My weight fluctuated up and down, but I was pretty average. I continued to "watch what I ate" and exercise and was generally healthy. When I was pregnant with my first child, I really focused on eating well, since I was responsible for this tiny being inside of me. When my son was born, I continued to read about what was good for him. When he began to eat "food", we had BIG challenges. It took us a while to figure out what was happening...it turned out he that he is very sensitive to food additives (artificial colors, flavors preservatives, sweeteners). What an eye opener this has been for me! Since our discovery, I have read a lot, and witnessed through my children and myself, the real, varied, and powerful effects food, and the chemicals used on, and in food, have on us all.
I love following the path that is laid out before us...how reading one article, leads to reading a book or researching something on-line, which leads to the next thing and the next thing.
As a human resources professional, I strived to incorporate wellness programs in the workplace for employees; in my last HR job, I was able to work on the company's Wellness Program. When I was given notice that my job was being eliminated at the end of 2008 (like so many others), I began to look for ways to enter the wellness world professionally. I came across a class listing for Nia. What is Nia? I researched it on-line...looked cool. I went to a class and loved it. A few months later I was enrolled for my White Belt training. I am always learning and open to trying new things - let me know what you love to do to be healthy!

I attended a Reiki 1 training in 2013, honestly, not expecting much...I went to support my friend. Boy, was I amazed by what happened! The attunement was incredible! I started practicing on my family and friends, and of course, myself. And I love it. I got my second level of training in 2015 and love it even more! I have received Advanced Reiki Training (3) in 2016 from 2 Reiki masters. I have also been learning about and using crystals in my healing practices (love them!)
